We sell PreHugged stuff to loving homes. We share this joy with other parents. We also share this joy with others less privileged.
It all started during the COVID lockdown in 2020. After 15 days, my son was bored with his toys and story books. He wanted different things – toys, puzzle, books and if nothing else, π± mobile and πΊ TV π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ. Well buying new stuff every 15 days was not possible and mobile / TV the whole day was just not happening π± !!
I started my search for preloved items to maintain my monthly budget πΈ and my sanity π₯΄!
I bought PreHugged items from various social networking groups. However there were challenges of pausing your office call / meeting, frantically scrambling to quickly type “Interested”, “block for me” and hope you are not too late!!β
After that the additional hassle of arranging pickup, transferring money as per seller’s preferred payment method, etc. I missed a platform which I could browse during my convenience, rather than being bombarded with messages.
Well I did not wait for it and one late night discussion after our bundle of joy π» finally decided to sleep π΄ – PreHugged.com came into existence πππ!
One of the first Prehugged item our son got was from his cousin sister! It was a soft toy penguin and the way our boy pranced around holding the penguin was a joy to see during these stressful times π€!
The way he enjoys with his “pengui” (as he calls the penguin in his cute child like voice) gave us an idea that we would use Pengui as our mascot.
Our son’s prancing with his Pengui was our inspiration for the website logo!
Parents love it; when their kid’s outgrown stuff gives joy to some other kid. People wanted to donate it, however Orphanages are facing their own challenges and prefer contribution in form of food items or money.
Indian culture always encourages passing on your kids old stuff to a family member or relative. Now we see that people donβt have the storage space to wait for a new member to join the family.
PreHugged accepts kids new and gently used toys and books. We Sanitise these valuables before selling it. Part of the sale proceeds from your donated items will be contributed to Orphanages.
In 1 act of kindness you give joy to so many children. So let’s pass on this π to a new loving home.
Why do parents buy PreHugged stuff
1 of the parents on our floor said:
We bought an expensive toy car π for our son. Our son was happy to see it. After 15 minutes its bonnet was broken π₯ π. That’s when I decided; I am not buying any expensive stuff for him, till he grows up to take care of it.
Parents buy various items within the same budget. Giving more exposure and learning through different toys π and books π; helps in overall development of your child π.
Thatβs not all, reusing i.e. recycling β»οΈ helps the environment π too.
Sharing the joy with Underprivileged
Giving back is a big part of what we do at PreHugged π€
Items that you donate to us are being sold to other loving homes πͺ. We in turn contribute from the proceeds generated to Charities, who work towards the upbringing of Orphan children.
We believe this is a great way to pay it forward and give the community a sense of involvement in our efforts to help those in need. In doing this, we can really make a difference and, you can too!
Well some call it Preloved kids’ stuff, some Precared kids’ stuff, some Second hand kids’ stuff; we have them all!
