ABOUT

Assemble the road and road roller; level the potholes with the road roller.

NOTE

Sand is used in this activity. You may spread the messy mat and assemble the road on it.

DISCUSS

1. Logic & Reason: Explain to your child how potholes are formed on the roads and how they affect the movement of vehicles. Tell them that they are going to fill the potholes using sand.
2. Sensory: Encourage your child to play with sand for some time. Ask them to describe its texture.
3. Cognition: Introduce your child to the road roller and explain its use. Show them the traffic display signs and describe them.
4. Coordination: Help your child assemble the road, road roller, and traffic display signs. Let them move the road roller on a flat surface before using it to level the road.
5. Social: Talk to your child about road etiquette and traffic rules. Explain the need to follow them in order to stay safe.
Eg: We should cross the road at the zebra crossings; we should not throw garbage on the road; etc.
